Problem With Corrosive Leather Nuts

Bruce, I have used a plastic composition nut (round plastic discs) that
are a dark brown color.  I obtained them years ago from PPCo.  They are
not threaded and screw on rather hard.  I used a small pencil-tip
soldering iron to heat the hole area and then threaded them onto the
wires.
