Museums on "Street of Waldkirch Organs"
By Wolfgang Brommer

Dear MMD's, in 2006 we have in Waldkirch our big festival year.
In 1806 Ignaz Blasius Bruder finished his work for his first street
organ. This year we had and have 28 different specials. One of these
specials started just now -- September 1st (which is the date 200
years ago that he finished his first street organ). Have a look to:
http://sdwo.de/ Please, if possible, make a link to this new web-site.

You will find information from (at this moment) nine museums where
Waldkirch organs are located. In Germany we call it "Straße der
Waldkircher Orgeln", the "Street of Waldkirch Organs". An English
version will start soon. But you can easily find the addresses of
the famous museums with mechanical music instruments.

From Seewen in Switzerland to Utrecht in the Netherlands, following
the river Rhine, you can discover the world of mechanical instruments
in Europe. And the heart of this is Waldkirch! Please feel free to
contact us in Waldkirch.

Also: we are now collecting all information for a world wide network
for Waldkirch Organs. Please send us by email whatever you think we
have to publish in future. Maybe we reach our new idea and more for
the next organ festival in 2008 in Waldkirch. Hope to see you all
in Waldkirch.

Yours,
Wolfgang Brommer - Master Organ Builder & Restorer
