Ehrlich's Musik Automat
By Mike Moran

Dear Kevin & Nicholas, Thanks very much for your expert advice.
I couldn't help myself and I bought the cabinet; must have been the
fumes from the paint stripper!

Seriously, though, the wood under the paint looks like good quality,
and after stripping and French polishing will be very pleasant. The
letters and flourishes are picked out in gold paint, though the deeper
engravings still have white and other later paint that needs to be
encouraged out.

Below is a link to the pictures. I was also told that there was
an Emil Ehrlich who was in the business; also a mention in Bowers,
page 707 (though I would rather hope it was something to do with
Paul Ehrlich.)

As one can see, a lot of work awaits, the door columns are also
missing. The original brass coin slot and 10 pfennig notice are
luckily still present.

Two holes (filled at the moment) are present on the right of the
cabinet, one for the coin slot about half way up side of the upper
part of the cabinet, and the other just up from the shelf that divides
the two compartments, i.e., indicating a configuration in a usual
upright style.

Once again thank you all for your wisdom, it is an enormous help.

Best regards,
Mike Moran
