Friends, we've decided to take the plunge, and publicly open our
collection and home as a museum. The house we bought last winter (with
this in mind) has worked out well, and we're as ready as we'll ever be.
(Security is in place, insurance arranged, the web site is functional,
our sign should go up next week, and we'll be notifying the local
public soon.)
We have over 50 instruments on display, most of which are organettes --
not the largest collection in the world, but certainly unique in many
ways, so there's likely something of interest for everyone. Initially
we'll be open "by chance or by appointment", so we strongly recommend
that you contact us before you come for a visit.
Announcing ... (drum roll please): ...
The ORGANETTE HOUSE Mechanical Music Museum
There is full information, including photos and descriptions, on the
web site so I won't bore you with it here. Let it suffice to say that
we'd love to see some of you here in Ohio, and if we know when you're
coming, we'll adjust our schedule accordingly.
P.S. Please help us get the word out -- if any of you list museums on
your web sites, or can otherwise make us known to the public, please
do!
