Seek Pedal Lyres for Reproducing Grand Pianos
By Dick Beery
I have two baby reproducing grands that need lots of work both on
the piano and the player action. I purchased them fifteen years ago
when a piano school went out of business. They were in a partial
rebuild state which is okay with me. I have boxes of action parts
to go through. However, before I tackle the action rebuild, I would
like to get them functioning as pianos.
I am starting to disengage from the electronics company I started
34 years ago and I am starting to start spending time on some of the
hobbies I have developed over the years. One of which is all kinds
of music. I'm thinking about taking piano lessons again and would
love to do it on one of the baby grands. The piano details are:
- Welte Mignon Autograph Piano-not sure where to find serial no.
- Fischer with Ampico; again, not sure where to find the serial no.
The main issue for getting the piano working as pianos is that the
pedal lyres are completely missing on both pianos: no wood and no
pedals and no rods. How do I find replacements? Any advice would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dick Beery
