Relevant to Ralph Schack's query about 20-inch Mermod Freres cylinders
available custom made, here is the tune list for a custom 24-inch
cylinder (furnished to me by Marty Roenigk of Mechantiques, Eureka
Springs, Arkansas):

Cylinder #119582 (24-inch, custom: all John Philip Sousa):

1. Washington Post March: Sousa
2. High School Cadets March: Sousa
3. Manhattan Beach March: Sousa
4. King Cotton March: Sousa
5. Fairest of the Fair(?) March: Sousa
6. El Capitan March: Sousa

As I have not received this music box yet I cannot give a "review"
of this custom cylinder, except to say that it is interesting.
Generally, my preference on music box cylinders is traditional stuff
-- the classics.

Both I and my son Wynn also have 20-inch Mermod Freres boxes.  This
size seems to have been ideal (no pun intended) for its repertoire
of tunes, which seems to far exceed the 9 standard cylinders (list
courtesy of Bill Wineburgh) for the 24-inch style, although without
doubt the 24-inch offers "bragging rights" or whatever.
