I'm guessing that the problems with AOL are generated on a strictly
robotic level. I don't think there is some censor, some actual person,
or this would not happen to MMD. It's probably just their spam filters
on overkill.
For those who dislike AOL, take heart that they have, as I understand
it, lost about half of their subscribers to other less expensive
providers. This comes as no surprise to me as their price is not
competitive, every version since Ver. 5 is loaded with garbage, and
the excellent email program that was Version 5 has been trashed from
Version 6 onward.
Of course, Version 5 is a little buggie; they were even sued over it.
Version 6 corrected the bugs but ruined the email program, and it just
got worse with each later version. I think they are up to Ver. 9 now
and it's just a mess.
Why do they have even half their original subscribers still paying
double the going rate? Probably because, like me, they started out
with AOL and haven't a clue how to work any other email program.
Rant: I can't imagine why anyone would sign up now as a new AOL
customer. You cannot get Version 5 with the great email program (which
I still use -- I refuse to "upgrade!") and the later versions are truly
awful and you must pay more than double the market price to boot!
