Special thanks to Ed Gaida for graciously sharing a number of roll
catalogs with me, which I'm starting to scan. One among them is
an undated Duo-Art Organ Music Roll Catalog A, published by The
Aeolian-Skinner Organ Co., Boston, Mass.
This 14-page catalog is nicely displayed in column format, making it a
good choice for OCR conversion, versus conversion to Adobe Acrobat PDF
format. The result is a tiny Excel spreadsheet containing 445 entries,
facilitating searching and sorting. That does not mean it lists 445
different rolls. This catalog lists a number of rolls alphabetically
several times under different spellings.
The catalog does not indicate if the listing is for 176-note
reproducing rolls, or for 116-note non-reproducing rolls. However,
I've checked a number of the entries against some 176-note reproducing
rolls that I am currently scanning, and there appears to be
concurrence.
As OCR was used to convert the catalog, there may be some spelling
errors within the catalog. I've picked up a few and corrected them,
but I am not infallible. Apologies for those undetected. The little
catalog may be downloaded from http://members.shaw.ca/paud122/docs.htm
Thanks also to Robbie Rhodes and Marc Kaufman for their assistance and
guidance in helping me through the front-end learning curve of this new
adventure. Stay tuned for other documents as time and energy permit.
