Actually, in connection with the current notes on this remarkable
pianist, I included mention of DUCA rolls, which have been largely
overlooked by collectors and are scarce as that proverbial chicken's
dental equipment in this country. I forgot that I had actually covered
the "scene" in the web site for the Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation,
and have listed the important classical performers, numerically, as in
all cases. Access www.rprf.org for complete information.
I also included a picture of a Duca cabinet piano, which our leader
Robbie omitted, probably for fear of lack of owner's permission.
I will get that from Tom Jansen, and hope to include it in a later
e-mail. You should see this piano -- it is a treat.
[ Sorry, Albert, MMDigest is text only, no photos. -- Robbie
Also, although Mike Walter's note did include most of what Leginska
recorded for Duo-Art, there are some omissions. Consult the complete
"Rollography" for detail. Included are all the rolls identifiable by
the lady: Artrio-Angelus, Duo-Art, and Recordo covered.
Hope to hear from those involved in scanning the rolls as to the
possibility of transferring the expression codes to either Duo-Art,
Ampico or Welte, so that we may all enjoy the extensive "rollography"
of this passionate performer.
