In response to Steve Cobb's question about the Irving Berlin tune,
"Some Sunny Day," this was a major hit of 1921-22 and appeared on most
all formats of rolls.
It's important to note that there is another tune by the same title
which was composed by Tony Jackson (the legendary pianist of New
Orleans, known and highly respected by Jelly Roll Morton). This tune
dates from circa 1919. I believe Walter Donaldson wrote the lyrics.
To my knowledge the Irving Berlin "Some Sunny Day" was issued on the
following A-rolls:
Automatic A-825/10, A-833/4, A-841/3
Clark A-284/6 (was recut by Play-Rite)
Columbia A-1680/4, A-1688/3, A-1694/3, A-1714/2, A-1786/3
Modern Composite Rolls Issued Under The "Automatic" Brand:
A-1634/3, A-2534/3
The only O-roll version of this song which I'm aware of is
Columbia O-558/4
I know that Clark A-284, Columbia A-1694, Columbia A-1714 and Columbia
O-558 exist, as of course do the two modern day (ca. 1960s) composite
rolls.
The title "Some Sunny Day" also appears on Automatic A-573, but from
the vintage it is certainly the Tony Jackson tune.
All best,
