Organ Rally at Knoebels Amusement Park
By Jim Neher

Thanks to those who alerted us to the COAA band organ rally
on June 9-11 at Knoebels Amusement Park & Resort in Elysburg,
Pennsylvania. I went with my son and we had a fabulous time.

The best organ we saw was an E. Pluer 64-key street organ with
a massive 16-foot trombone, sensitively hand-cranked by its
owner, Kevin Sheehan. Rich, gorgeous, not shrill, perfectly
in tune -- I'll never forget it. He had families stopping and
looking, then soon the dad would crank for a while the kids
stared and danced around. This was public education at its best!
