"VMG" or "VMC" Likely is "H_MG" - Henri Margot
By Beatrice Robertson Farmer

Dear Vickie, I suspect a very careful inspection of the mark would
reveal something that looks like H_MG. I wrote a very short article
for MBSI a few years back identifying that mark as Henri Margot.
There are several snuff boxes with that marking around, and I have
one that has the mark on the comb "Hi Margot". 'Hi.' is generally
the abbreviation for Henri.

The Margot family made boxes in the L'Auberson area of Switzerland,
and the family members are still active in the trade. Denis Margot
makes beautiful inlaid cases and sells assorted music box items.
