Imhof & Mukle Orchestrion at Birmingham Museum
By Mark Jefford

Hello, On making further enquiries about the Ex-Blackpool Tower Imhof
& Muckle orchestrion, I learn that since the Birmingham Museums have
been reorganised the orchestrion was crated up, as mentioned by Paul
Camps, and has not yet been unpacked, viz:

Unfortunately the orchestrion has not been unpacked yet after being
moved out of the old Museum of Science and Industry. It was packed
in crates by specialist movers and we are still not in the position
of being able to re-assemble it completely so it was felt to be more
sensible for it to remain in those crates until such time that space
can be found for the instrument to be put together and played again.
In the meantime, you can see a picture of the orchestrion in the
'Our Collection' section of the new Birmingham Stories website:
  http://www.birminghamstories.co.uk/collection.php?cat=4&set=6#

It seems that Decca Record LF1310 is of this instrument. Hope this
helps.
