English Preservation Societies
By Herbert Crandell

From The Independent Online Edition, April 24, 2006, published
by Independent News and Media Limited, this essay is headed,

"If it's old, decrepit, obsolete, and requires inordinate amounts
of tinkering to keep it going, then it's odds-on that there will
be a society dedicated to doing just that, says Martin Bywater."

While it is marginal to the purpose of the MMD and I certainly
don't agree with many of the author's contentions (being among the
preservationists), readers of this article may at least be amused --
if not somewhat informed.
