Hello MMD. I'm wondering if someone who has a U.S.- manufactured
Pianostyle roll would be willing to have a look at the tempo
indication, if there is one, at the start of the music?
As I've mentioned here before, I've acquired a mysterious Recordo-coded
roll with a U.K. leader and label that proclaim it to be a Parex roll,
a company that produced the U.K. version of Pianostyle. I've been
pestering the life out of my friends about this roll; now I'm spreading
the agony world-wide.
The tempo indication my roll consists of a blue rubber-stamped circle,
about an inch in diameter. Inside the circle, in the same color, the
word "TEMPO" is printed vertically, and "60 80" is printed horizontally,
with the gap between the 60 and the 80 ensuring that the "M" of TEMPO
is not overprinted. Does anyone else's Pianostyle have a tempo
indicator like this?
My only other Parex roll seems to be a genuine 88-note U.K. roll.
It has no tempo indication at all. By the way, are the perforations on
your roll square or circular?
