Great Dorset Steam Fair
By John Smith

There is no need to describe what this event is all about, fabulous
will be enough. For the last 3 years the Amateur Organ Builders have
had a marquee there. During this period the A.O.B. Group, as we have
become known, has gone from strength to strength although there is
still no official club as such -- the nearest thing we have is a mass
gathering at the annual Rollcutters rendezvous and a pre-Christmas
meeting with a meal at the St Albans Mechanical Organ Museum, now
Concert Hall. Apart from this we meet in increasing numbers at various
steam fairs and other organ events. Every one of these has been hailed
as a super day out for us all.

Our longest get together is at the Great Dorset Steam Fair where we
camp together for up to 10 days and of course watch the fair being set
up and enjoy being a part of it. There are a very limited number of
places available, but this year we would like to extend a welcome to
one or more of our American amateur builders to join us. It would
entail bringing a small organ you have made or at least a table top
display.

I am sure anyone joining us would be well looked after on site. If you
are interested please email Tina at <tina_pettifer@hotmail.com>
