Rewinding OSI Reisner Action Magnet
By Bill Heverly
I recently purchased on eBay some OSI Reisner style 601 [direct action
chest] magnets. I should have looked at the listing closer as these
are 150 ohm units and operate on a lower wind pressure than my
application will be. I assume that the only difference in the magnet
coils for the various resistance units is the wire size.
Does anyone know if that is correct? I would like to attempt to rewind
the coils as 40 or 60 ohms. If my assumption is correct, could anyone
suggest what gauge wire might be used for these coils?
Thanks,
Bill Heverly

[ Dear Mr. Heverly, If you were to rewind 601 magnets, you would
[ use 32 gage magnet wire for 40 ohm coils and 33 gage wire for
[ 60 ohm coils.
