Antique Holtzer-Cabot 220 VAC Motor
By Paul Manganaro

I purchased a motor I thought was from an old coin piano. It looks
just like a Seeburg motor with on adjustable base made by Holtzer-Cabot
1150 rpm but it turns out to be a 220 vac motor. The starting winding
is wired in differently on the posts than on a 110 vac motor. Can this
motor be used without rewinding it?

Last week an antique dealer dragged another one of these 220 vac motors
into my shop but this one is 1120 rpm. In thirty years I've never seen
one of these and now two show up. Has anyone else had experience with
these motors?

Thank you
Paul Manganaro
