Hi all! Sometime back Don Teach requested for us folks to send in some
A, G or 4X rolls for new copies to be made. I have a great original
'A' roll of nicely arranged music, Clark Music Roll "Radio Review #12".
This has a few waltzes, Fox Trots, etc., nice mandolin accompaniment,
and is one of my favorites, but it is beyond its useful life. I did
contact Don, and I now have a great reproduction of the roll which
I can use without the worry that the next nickel dropped into my Cremona
will signal the end of this very listenable music.
Ed Gaida produced the copy and it is superb. The cost was unbelievably
reasonable, just postage and insurance. Don now has a few copies of
this super 'A' roll to sell, I presume. It would be great if more people
would take him up on his offer -- really good rolls are hard to find,
and I'm sure many of you out there have some favorites to preserve and
share. I believe Don is getting a catalog together for these rolls,
and I hope soon. Good nickelodeon rolls that can be played without
worry are becoming harder and harder to obtain.
