After 55 years in business, the Organ Literature Foundation of
Braintree, Massachusetts, is selling its complete inventory at greatly
reduced prices. Founded in 1950 by the late Henry Karl Baker, the
Foundation holdings originally consisted of Mr. Baker's personal
library of rare books. He soon branched out into book appraisals,
sales and reprinting, and then into recordings.
Over the years, the Foundation grew into one of the largest sellers of
organ books, records and CDs in the world, as well as a noted research
center featuring one of the most extensive and remarkable collections
of organ literature in private hands.
Although the Organ Literature Foundation's primary focus is recordings
and books about classical pipe organs, they also carry a wide variety
of items on theatre organs, reed organs, bells, hand bells, player
pianos, music boxes, calliopes and other mechanical music.
The 46-page catalog lists about 90 items per page, thus an estimated
4,000 titles, including 2,000 CDs, all of which are now on sale at 50%
off regular prices. Here's the index to Catalog KK of December 2005:
