Dear fellow readers, I have reduced the price of my 1929 Chickering
Ampico B to well below what I have invested in the piano for quick
sale. I offer my 1929 Chickering Sheraton semi art-case Ampico B
model, serial no. 147344, for $5000.00 or close offer. Case is very
finely figured mahogany with original shaded factory finish and decals
in very nice original untouched condition. The piano has new bass
strings, action and keys regulated and hammers voiced (original soft
enough and in good shape), ($2500 in action work done 2 years ago.
Original ivory keys. Pump motor and roll drive motors professionally
refurbished ($650.00 2 years ago). Pneumatic stack rebuilt to factory
standards by Brian Thornton of Short Mountain Music Works, including
stack pneumatics recovered, valves recovered, new valve plates and
valve gaskets, etc. done (around $3000 work done). Expression mechanism,
drawer and pump not rebuilt. Piano sounds great and a great chance to
acquire a rare and wonderful reproducing piano at a great price.
Pictures and work invoices available upon request and as always glad
to answer questions and assist in any way possible. E-mail
