FS: 1912 Roenisch Hupfeld Solophonola 7 Foot Grand
By Paddy Handscombe
Because of the need for space in the church where it stands I have to
find a good home for this splendid piano in the next few weeks. It's
one of the rare big Roenisch grands, a little over 7 feet long, in a
plain rosewood case. Made in 1912, it has the full pre-WW1 65/88 note
Solodant over-action with twin accompaniment subduing levers and
'tram-handle' una corda keyshift lever in a swing-up control panel.
It's of superb quality. The player was properly restored 20 years
ago and has been little used since. The piano should ideally be
refurbished and repolished but the soundboard is good and currently it
gets a magnificent tone from the original hammers and strings. Anyone
interested is welcome to email me for pictures and full details.
I did not buy it as an investment and am not seeking any profit on this
lovely instrument. Ideally I want it to go to a real enthusiast who
wants to play and interpret rolls on one of the finest pianos of its
type ever made.
