I have the last of my collection, a wonderful 1929 Chickering "B"
Ampico grand piano for sale. I saved the best for last but my recent
downsizing requires I sell this piano too. It is a Chickering grand,
serial no 147344, Sheridan semi-art-cased Ampico grand in a very finely
figured brown mahogany case nice original finish.
The action has been rebuilt, keys regulated, action regulated and
hammers voiced (original in good shape) and new bass strings installed
two years ago and is presently in the queue at Brian Thornton's Short
Mountain Music Works where the stack has been rebuilt, stack pneumatics
recovered, valves recovered, new valve plates, new gaskets, etc. The
expression mechanism and drawer has not been rebuilt yet. I had the
motor for the roll drive and its regulator and the pump motor refurbished,
etc., two years ago also. Sounds great as a piano and a great chance
to acquire a B model for a great value.
I am asking $7000 as is or nearest offer, and I'm glad to supply photos
, discuss work done and answer all questions. I need to sell this as
fast as possible so glad to discuss offers and or partial trades also.
Thanks
John McClure
