Music Roll Tune Identification Needed
Last week I acquired a number of original A rolls. Many have damaged
leaders but six of them are in very good condition. The rolls were
sold by the Marquette Piano Company under their Cremona brand name.
Only one of the rolls retains its original label, but all of the rolls
have numbers stamped on the leader and the end.
Most of the music is pre-World War One or maybe slightly after. I would
like to re-cut the rolls but hesitate doing so without titles for the
musical selections.
Cremona roll information seems to be scarce, so I am asking readers
of this august forum to help out if they can. The rolls numbers are:
502, 583, 564, 596, 586 and 618. Only roll number 618 retains its
original label. The titles are listed below:
1. Kentucky Blues
2. The Cheerful Blues
3. The Broadway Blues
4. Everybod's Crazy 'Bout The Doggone Blues
5. Farmyard Blues
6. Barnyard Blues
7. Reflection Rag
8. Yah De Dah
9. Undertakers Blues
10. Harmony Blues
If you would like a re-cut copy of the above roll, contact Don Teach.
His email is listed in one of the over 200 posts to this group.
