I was just reading Matthew Caulfield's article about singing bird box
doctors and he knew of only Ray Lins and Moe Goldy. I would be happy
to add my name to that list. I do complete repair and restoration of
singing bird cages, bird boxes, whistlers, and the like.
For anyone interested in having the bellows of a rubber diaphragm
singing bird rebuilt, you probably know that those diaphragms are
no longer available. I have devised a method using a latex material
and rubber bushings that has tested very well on several bird cages.
The cost to recover a rubber bellows is $75.
I currently have a "Special" singing bird repair service listed on
eBay for $125 which includes servicing the mechanism and rebuilding
of wood/leather bellows. Service includes complete disassembly, clean
and oil, bushings if needed, pull mainspring, clean, check, and lube,
set up and test. An excellent price available for a short time.
