Blower for Small Pipe Organ
By Pat DeWitt

Hi All: I was fortunate enough to have been given two genuine
Spencer Orgoblo blowers by being at the "right place at the right time"
(and perhaps a similar opportunity may exist for others).

I am a mechanical engineer at an electronics company and we have an
environmental laboratory that is used for developing and testing forced
air cooling of our military radios and amplifiers. Well, the first
time I went to the lab to work on my project, I saw that they had
several Orgoblos to generate the air flow for testing! Making a mental
note of that, several years later the lab was relocated and downsized
and I was able to be the lucky, legitimate, recipient of two excess
blowers.

Now my question. The nameplate states that they are 150 CFM at 6"
of water. How many ranks of organ pipes of what size will this type
blower support? I have hopes of adding some pipes to a player piano,
and have an 8' rank of stopped wooden flute pipes stashed away for that
eventuality.

Any help will be appreciated. (I understand the need for regulation of
the air, as was discussed in the most recent MMD.)

Thanks
Pat DeWitt
