MMD readers may not be aware that Mastertouch Piano Roll Co.,
Australia, has now closed. The web site has been shut down, the
Mastertouch building is up for sale, and the Powerhouse Museum
(New South Wales) is taking most of the machinery and setting up
a static display. The Museum is also developing a web site about
Mastertouch.
While sad news, at least the roll making machinery will be kept
together. The Museum wants to encourage voluntary support in regard
to the collection, and it could be that the machinery will in the
future be made operational, depending on the degree of voluntary
support. The display will be located at Castle Hill, not the main
building in Harris Street, Sydney.
