"Clin-Clan" Simple Mechanical Musical Instrument
By Aldo Laus

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I would like to suggest to Mark Kinsler another possible solution to
his needs of a simple mechanical musical instrument. The instrument
name is "Clin Clan". It is a simple self-playing glockenspiel and
is produced in kit form by an Italian company specialized in organ
restoration and carton music arrangements. You can see it in their
homepage at http://www.giralanota.it/

The kit was conceived for children and is the second release after the
success of the first one.  Orchestration of the 10 notes is very simple;
normally the user starts with "Father Jacobs" ["Frère Jacques"]. It
comes with five songs already mapped on the paper, and the cylinder has
30 holes on its circumference for each note.

Maybe the price of 69 euros is too much for your needs, but it is worth
it for the value of the instrument which I would define as "Crank for
Beginners".

Kind regards,
Aldo Laus
