Formatting 1.4 Mb Floppy Diskettes as 720 kb
By David Sharpe

In a recent MMDigest Jim Cook suggests replacing a 720 kb floppy drive
with a 1.4 Mb drive. I'm sure this would work fine for a computer but
has anyone tried this with any of the earlier Yamaha Disklaviers or
stand-alone sequencers?

I have two stand-alone sequencers using the 720 kb floppy drives and
would like the extra capacity, but I suspect that the firmware of the
device might not recognize the larger capacity even if it did recognize
the new drive.
