Hello, A couple of points about the Gerety/Chase valves. First,
Gene Gerety is out of the picture now. I have a few of the original
blocks which can be operated in wire-per-note mode (active low) while
retaining the pick and hold circuitry which drives the coils. I have
also made a transition board that has screw terminals and pull-up
resistors.
A new design of the E-Roll Player system has been designed and is
currently being tested on my Ampico B. So far the results are excellent.
The new system is simpler than the original one and will be easier to
install. A few features that were never used have been eliminated in
the interest of simplicity. The new valve blocks work on wire-per-note
signals but are active high.
At this point I am trying to determine how many of the new system I might
be able to sell so as to know what quantities of parts to order.
Feedback from interested parties will help in making this determination.
Regarding the translation of MIDI notes, I have already written a
simple utility that will translate any one-to-one note mapping in MIDI
files, on a batch basis. The program is very simple to use. You just
choose a folder of files to process and enter a string which relates
in-to-out note numbers. This string can be made in any text editor and
dropped into the program window. I have made some more complicated
versions of the program for other uses and can make whatever variation
might be necessary for specific application. The program can be found

Best regards,
Spencer Chase
