Alternative to Hide Glue in Player Pianos
By Robert Linnstaedt

[ Ref. Kim Bunker in MMD 050914 ]

Is there anything wrong with hide glue? It's so easy and so good.
There's probably nothing wrong with the new stuff, which doesn't seem
to have a name. The young pups must have new stuff.

I'm a confessed old fuddy-duddy. I think I shall stick with the
old-fashioned hide glue used by Aeolian, Steinway, Stradivarius,
Estey, etc. It has been a proven glue since time immemorial. And yes,
pneumatic motors and valves have been around far longer than player
pianos.

Regards,
Robert Linnstaedt
