Hi all, I seen in 050818 MMD that James Farris is looking to acquire
some "King of Ragtime Writers", Scott Joplin, rolls. Good news!
I recently acquired a couple of very nice collections of music rolls,
that are heavily weighted in the ragtime and blues areas: the Smythe
collection from Canada and, awhile back, another major collection from
Beverly Hills, California. Over the next few years I will auction them
off on my music roll auctions.
Both collections have quite a few ragtime and blues rolls, not just
Scott Joplin, but many of all the rest of the composers of these types
of music. The owner of the Beverly Hills collection mentioned that at
one time he had a copy of every roll that was ever published of Scott
Joplin's music.
If you are not on my music roll auction, it might be a very good idea
to send your email address and let me know that you would like to be
added to my mailing list, either by email or by snail mail.
Also, if you have changed your email address, it might be a good idea
to let me know as any email address that does not work, I delete them
from my mailing list and I may have dropped you. So, if you have not
heard from me in awhile, let me know.
Last night I talked with another music roll consignor in Los Angeles,
Calif., and they have been collecting 65-note rolls for probably about
30 years and may consign their collection as well. It consists of some
great ragtime, blues, cakewalks, show tunes, Herman Avery Wade and
other desirable rolls. So, let me know your email or snail mail
address and don't miss out on perhaps a chance of a lifetime to get
some desirable rolls. I have other types of rolls as well, so just
about something for everyone's taste. I anticipate having my next
roll auction in either September or October. Thanks for your interest.
For those who are not familiar with my music roll auctions, you
may visit my web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~rollertunes/
Have fun looking and you can also listen to short snippets of some
of my recut blues and ragtime selections. Many leftover rolls are
still available for sale.

It is still beautiful and the weather is very nice.
