Hi Skip, I have a working Lauter player with the double pneumatic
tracker system. If you're not in a hurry I will take a picture
and send it out to you.
Have fun with the six-pouch wind-motor. I use pneumatic cloth when
recovering that beast. I have seen pouch leather used. I don't think
anyone had a clue as to how the original green cloth was pouched.
I gave up trying to figure it out years ago.
The piano originally came with a built in tracker bar cleaner. I have
seen only one in the dozen or so I have come across. This was a wooden
tracker bar shaped connector with a hose that fit in the bottom board.
On the end of the piece of hose was a brass, I think straight nipple.
You may see a hole there on the right side near the top.
You will also see a strange lever located in the upper right of the
spool box just above the right side roll holder. There is also a hole
just forward of the left side roll holder that was tubed to the stack
with a little flap valve.
Here's how it worked. You flipped the lever in the spool box down and
it locked on the roll holder. There is a little slot that it fits
into. This locks the wind motor. You stick the nipple end of the tube
into the hole on the left side of the spool box, pushing in the flap
valve and giving it suction. Put the player in Play, start pumping
and run the other end of the cleaner over the tracker bar thus cleaning
out the paper and dust. The _one_ that was intact really worked great.
Anything else you need to know,, I can take pix for ya.
