Hi Ed -- We have a merry-go-round with a B.A.B. roll-played organ
right smack in the middle of downtown Spokane. It operates in the
summertime. A good olde friend of mine, Frank Ulijohn, now deceased,
used to maintain it when it formerly was located in an amusement park
here in Spokane named Natatorium Park. I rode on the merry-go-round
as a child about 1929; in later years my sons also rode on the
merry-go-round about the late 1950s.
Many years ago Frank Ulijohn and his wife, Ruby, and myself and my
wife, made a trip over to Virginia City, Montana, and stayed a few
days. Frank knew Ozzie Wurdeman and introduced us all to him. This
was early 1960s, I recall. Ruby Ulijohn is still living in Spokane,
in a care home.
