Hello all, I closed my player shop a few years ago and now that I am
having health issues I realize I will never be able to do anything with
either the pianos or the parts. These were bought with the intention
of a complete rebuilding and refinishing, as was my custom to do:
stringing, action work -- everything.
In addition to the stuff listed below, there are probably 100 rolls
(88-note) in various condition and 25 Ampico rolls in excellent
condition; Duo-Art literature, some other old original literature
(Manualo and Gulbransen); an assortment of damper felts, NOS action
parts, etc., etc., too much to list or inventory.
The shop was in Evansville, Indiana, and has been closed for several
years now. The pianos and the rest of the stuff is stored at my
mother's house on a street-level heated and air-conditioned space.
The pianos include:
- Schubert-New York, mahogany case, perfect ivories 56 1/2" tall.
- Autopiano, walnut case, perfect ivories 55" tall (Auto deLuxe),
double valve, full width pump. I've done several of these over the
years and they are wonderful pianos. I have the original warranty from
the music store where it was purchased in 1918.
- Pianista-Autopiano, Standard action, mahogany case with bench,
double valve, full width pump, painted case, perfect keys.
- Milton, Standard action, single valve, small pump, 53-1/2" tall,
mandolin rail, needs ivories replaced.
- Kreiter, Standard double valve, full pump, matching bench, mandolin
rail, 56-1/2" tall, highly figured oak, spectacular if you like oak.
- Chase & Baker, mahogany, stripped case, needs some ivories.
Ampico model A pump from 1923 Chickering, Ampico/Amphion air motor,
Ampico B tubing interface (where drawer tubing is attached under
piano), Ampico Stoddard expression regulator with timed crescendo,
universal vent block, and a few other Ampico items.
Six parts stacks, Standards, Cable, Pratt/Read, Melville Clark with
spring-wound drive motor and wooden tracker bar; large box of air
motors in various disrepair, tracking devices, various heads of stacks,
some bottom pump units, various equalizers, NOS hose and some tubing,
etc., etc.
I think there are a total of five or six piano benches; a couple of
them match the pianos above.
All this stuff must go as one lot for $1200.00, which is less than what
I have in it. Also, I am unable to assist with loading any of it other
than the boxes, but it is easy out and up into a truck. If you have an
interest let me know and I can send you some pictures.
Thanks,
Bruce Mercer
