[Eric Stott asked in the 05.06.25 MMD where he could audition some
Artcraft rolls]
Hi,
I miss the listening booths at the old 78-rpm record stores which
vanished in the 45/LP days.
I am too busy trying to get caught up with Artcraft back orders to learn
digital audio techniques. I have even quit making analog cassettes due
to the time factor. At this point, due to the quality of my rolls and
the volume of my international business (half of Artcraft's business is
export), I don't have any time to produce audio samples.
Back in the pre-personal-computer days, I used to make thousands of
cassettes for samples. Only a few cassette recipients every ordered
rolls, while others came in "from the blue" and purchased quantities of
titles. Today, there are enough Artcraft rolls in circulation (some
decades of production, on my part) for most collectors to be able to
hear one of my arrangements on a friend's piano. The music will do the
talking in most cases!
Regards,
Douglas Henderson
