Dear Readers,

I am in the process of developing software that will allow us to improve
how we send mail to MMD subscribers.  This software will also allow us
to send surveys to our subscribers, and eventually to allow subscribers
to manage their own subscription.

I sent a test message out this morning using this software.  It contains
a link to a "survey" form which is, for now, a page saying that you got
to the survey section.  Please be assured that this mail was "official"
and not an attempt by a third party to phish for personal data.  It will
help me a lot if you will click on the link in the email message to go
to the survey.  That way my software can make an automated tally for me
of how many people got the message.

If you ever have a question as to the validity of a piece of mail like
this that appears to be from us, don't hesitate to write to me or the
editor to ask.
