Recently, I acquired a Thomas Playmate Player Organ after years of
searching. The player mechanism was made by the Automatic Music
Corporation. Gulbransen organs also used this same player mechanism.
This player mechanism does not have individual pneumatics for each
note. As the roll moves over the tracker bar and as each perforation
allows the vacuum to actuate the appropriate valve, there is an
electrical contact made on the outside of the valve, and the note is
played by the organ. On the outside of each valve is the electrical
device for playing the note on the organ. This device consists of
a metal strip (on which is stamped A M Corp USA) and a bare wire
spanning the strip for the valve to actuate.
I am seeking any information regarding this player mechanism. I would
really like to find as service manual for the player mechanism. I would
appreciate any information or direction to find information about this
player mechanism.
Thank you.
