Edison Gallery will hold its first Chicago auction on Saturday, May
21, 2005. The sale will be held at Susanin's Auction House at 900 S.
Clinton St. (at Taylor). The sale starts at 3 p.m. and viewing will be
held daily from 10 to 5 and on the day of the sale from 10, with limited
viewing after 3 p.m. Susanin's is conveniently located just south of
the Chicago Loop. The building, with free parking in the adjacent
parking lot, is easy to reach from any downtown location and is directly
off all Chicago's major downtown freeways.
The first auction of its kind in Chicago, this auction features many
fine musical boxes, phonographs, a large selection of demonstration and
electrical instruments from some of the finest American and European
makers of scientific instruments, including Daniel Davis, Queen & Co.,
Max Kohl and others, complemented by a group of quality Geissler,
Crookes, and other discharge tubes. Also featured are rare telephone,
telegraph, and communications instruments, and all manner of early
technology.
