I tried Saran Wrap about two or three years ago. It is great for making
pouches, but unfortunately I could not find any glue that would stick it
in place. Many of the more chemical glues curled or attacked the Saran
pouches, and others simply peeled off. I spend some weeks trying to get
this right, but in the end I had to give up.
They will work well if a sheet is used where it gets clamped between two
pieces of plastic or wood so that no glue is necessary. My findings were
that plastic will work if it has been fused to a backing cloth (like
player cloth). Then it can be glued properly. After trying a whole lot
of different stuff, ranging from plastic bags to diapers and shower
curtains, I ended up with leather again. Nothing is as nice and easy to
work with, and best of all my beloved hide glue sticks it really well.
The mention of leather, of course, leads us to the other pouch topic --
sealing.
