Seek Residence Organ Master Rolls
By Jim Crank

Julian Dyer brings up a question that is of great interest to me.
Just what became of the master residence organ rolls for the Duo-Art,
Welte Philharmonic, Wurlitzer 'R', Roesler-Hunholz and Skinner
Automatic players? Were they trashed or did someone manage to save
them? The Moller Artiste have all been saved, but what about the
others?

The Welte masters were obtained by Mr. Fulton from Kimball decades ago,
but no one seems to know who has them now.

Having spent a lot of time and money building two scanners for these
rolls, it would be a great advantage to be able to use the original
masters and not the production rolls, some of which were not all that
accurate in their punching.

Yes, once scanned and in digital format, I can edit them, but the whole
project is about preserving the original performances and not modifying
the artist's work. Using the masters would hopefully eliminate the
production punching errors.
