I agree, it does seem crazy that not only $75 but even more that was
paid for a 15-1/2" Regina disc on eBay. But think of the last time
that you found one at an antique shop -- or a flea market! Look at the
downright crazy price for a gallon of gas, and we have not seen the end
of that. Some people are getting rich off others and have plenty of
money to spend.
There is the answer to why we are having a hard time getting young
people interested: they cannot afford the items. Who wants to share
when no one else does? Think about it -- band organs do not cost
$2000, rebuilding costs plenty, purchase a trailer, _then_ fill up the
tank with gas. Oh, and do not forget about insurance (another rip-off)
and don't forget about tolls, then you have to pay a fee to play the
instrument?
Can someone tell me that there is not something wrong here? Maybe
everyone should be exposed to the music; there is a lot of truth there
and solutions to the problems facing today's society.
"The Best Things in Life are Free" read the words to the song; there is
a real message there. That is why what we are doing is so important.
