Dear MMDians, I am happy to inform you that despite the poor medical
care Ms. Malone is receiving, she is stable and on her way to a recovery.
I have now seen her on two occasions, the first of which was somewhat
distressing as she seemed to be tremendously weak. However, my last
visit with her was on Friday and we sat down together and read proverbs
and psalms. She becomes strong and alert once she is provided with
a source of interaction.
One of the big problems Jeanne has is that she was never a big eater.
She wants to really be a lean machine when she goes about her work.
Now she has the good fortune of stuffing herself with the best foods her
dear son, John, can provide her with to aid in her recovery. But the
doctors and nurses display very little concern for her well-being and so
John is requesting that I investigate the possibilities of transferring
Ms. Malone to the reputable Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, right here
in my home town of Berkeley. She is currently staying at the Emanuel
Medical Center in Turlock, California; however, she may have been moved
for the second time, to the Brandel Manner recovery center (to save
hospital costs).
Please keep in mind that while Ms. Malone's condition has become poor,
she is still very much alive. She was hard at work, lifting those big
paper rolls and signing off bills right before her collapse. Several
of her family members have lived to well over 100 years of age and kept
on the job to the very last day. So let's try and think first about
recovery, as I know that's the first thing on Ms. Malone's mind right
now.
Jeanne is not only a wonderful aid to the roll perforating involved in
mechanical music, but she is also a tremendously diligent grandparent
and religious person. She has done very much for all those around her.
And so, for those out there who have benefited from Ms. Malone, it's
our turn to benefit her in whatever way we can. I encourage friends to
take the time to visit her.
Ms. Jeanne Malone sends out her love to everyone, both MMDians and her
clients and friends. Times are tough, but she's hanging in there for
everyone, including myself. And I love her dearly for that.
All the best,
Marc Daja Elbasani
