Hello, With all the recent discussion of dihydrogen monoxide, I am
surprised that no one has mentioned the hazard that it poses to musical
instruments, both conventional and mechanical.
Pianos are probably the most effected. The need for frequent tuning is
caused by variation in dihydrogen monoxide vapor levels. Severe damage
may occur when even small quantities of liquid dihydrogen monoxide
contacts any part of a piano.
However, it must be admitted that without dihydrogen monoxide, pianos
as we know them would not exist (nor would we).
Best regards,
Spencer Chase
