Hi Digest. I am currently scanning my box and roll labels for digital
storage as well as restoring them and printing 'new' ones for the ones
that are badly damaged or missing. (My collection is at
http://pianoman1984.t35.com/rolls.html)
My rolls are mostly Hupfeld and most have Animatic labels (three
different styles/types). The 'new' Animatic labels look fabulous, but
six or so have Hupfeld labels which I guess were originally white with
an image of a person holding a harp.
Now, over 80 years later, these labels look mostly yellow, most of them
not even containing a trace that the person with the harp has ever been
there. So, from the few where the image is slightly visible, I'm trying
to make a proper 'new' image to use on 'new' labels. (I hope I don't
sound too confusing.) So I'm sort of re-creating this person with the
harp (I believe it to be a woman) using Paint Shop Pro and Adobe
PhotoShop.
My question is, has anybody already done so, so that I can give up
trying? And if not, does anybody need the restored image? (As so far
it seems it's going to work out fine.)
I am willing to send it, or even restore your own scanned labels (as
far as I have time to do so). Just let me know.
