In respect of the two items recently reported as likely scams,
I reported both to eBay via their online help and contact links.
I keep the message pretty simple:-
This listing is fake.
The item appeared in a previous auction and is not for sale.
The seller is bogus.
His entry has all the hallmarks of fraudulent activity.
What are you going to do about it?
The first was withdrawn within 48 hours, prior to the end of the
auction. It will be interesting to see how quickly the Regina Music
Box is deleted. It would appear that eBay take the issue pretty
seriously, and act accordingly.
The simplest means of outing the perpetrator is to request a visit.
I send them a message saying something like:-
"Hi there, I happen to be in the area of Chiswick / Hong Kong /
Timbuktu this weekend. Please give me an address where I may
view the item."
The result is a deafening silence.
