Features of Different Yamaha Disklavier Models
By Bob Gonzalez

I am considering buying a Yamaha 52" upright model HQ300. It is a
Disklavier. I understand this model was not offered in the US market,
but was offered in Japan and perhaps elsewhere. I believe the one
being considered is a 1997 product, although I do not have a serial
number.

I don't know which version Disklavier would be on this piano; or would
a Japanese market piano be identical and compatible with US models?
Also, what are the features to be found on various models? I am hoping
someone has info to share.

I wish to do the following things: First, play MIDI files downloaded to
a laptop from ragtime music sites; Second, play MIDI files created by
the few folks who are scanning piano rolls; Third, record and replay
live performances. Just basic stuff.

I would love to hear about web sites where info on these matters can be
found. Thanks for your help.
