Regarding the thread on bid sniping, I keep seeing responses that
people are using the snipe systems to "only bid what they are willing
to bid maximum" and not just to 'steal' the item at the last minute.
If that were true, then there is no use for the snipe program because
eBay itself has proxy bidding where you "tell" it what your maximum
is, and it will bid up to that point and stop.
I still believe, like the first person's comment on this, that the
sniping is for one reason alone: to try and win/steal the bid at the
last minute, and not give anyone a chance to bid who doesn't already
have a pre-arranged snipe or proxy bid in. All's fair, so they say,
but I for one abhor snipe bidding. Now back to your regularly
scheduled musical programme!
