FS: Chickering Queen Anne Ampico Grand
By Barry Geia

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

For sale: Chickering 5'-8" Queen Anne mahogany "Art case" (which
we understand is rare for a Chickering), three single cabriole legs,
serial number 131751. It has never undergone restoration. We have
received many compliments on the piano's tonal qualities. The player
mechanism, a Stoddard Ampico or Ampico A, is believed complete except
for two small wood panels.

The finish is finely alligatored with a small square section stripped
to reveal wood grain (which is very nice). Everything is intact except
for a missing middle pedal and possibly missing wood covers on the
underside or bottom of the case (the latter according to a restoration
specialist who examined the piano about ten years ago).

Supplied with matching piano bench, refinished and reupholstered
probably about 40 years ago, very good shape; Ampico music catalog
(hard back); photocopy of Ampico Service Manual; 120 to 140 rolls for
the player.

The piano will be available for moving from its current storage sometime
in the spring once the weather breaks. It is currently located in
upstate Pennsylvania, about 40 minutes off of highway 81 (exit between
Binghamton and Scranton). Photos can be supplied.

Please contact me at 202-887-4157 or e-mail me at <bgeia@akingump.com>
if you have further questions. Thank you.
