Hello, my name is Lonnie and I work for a Steinway dealer located
in Louisville. We restore 20 to 25 pianos per year and on occasion,
someone will ask us to restore and old upright piano that "grandma
owned as a child."
We recently contracted to totally restore a circa 1910 Wurlitzer player
piano, which we are able to do; however, there are a couple of parts
missing from the original piano. I'm not sure of the proper name but
they are the very thin brass plates, nailed to the key bed under the
key slip, that surround the levers and specify what you wish the player
to do.
We have tried John Tuttle to no avail (he suggested you) and we would
appreciate any help you can provide in helping us do the best job of
restoration.
Thanks,
